Meet The Doctor

Dr. Richard A. Lechner

General Dentist

Dr. Richard Lechner is originally from Moodus, CT. Upon high school graduation, he joined the United States Navy and served his country aboard a guided-missile destroyer in the early 1970s. After his service, he attended the University of Delaware and graduated with a baccalaureate degree in business administration. Soon after, he moved to New York City and became friends with his dentist, who practiced across the street from Dr. Lechner’s apartment.

After being a patient for over 10 years, I became convinced that practicing dentistry is what I wanted to do for a living, so it was back to school, getting my pre-medical sciences out of the way, and then attending New York University College of Dentistry. I married my wife, Tae, while still in dental school and had two very young children when the 9/11 tragedy occurred just months after becoming a dentist. I decided to move back to Connecticut, where I have been practicing for 20 years and am now the proud owner of New Britain Dental Arts.

When he is not at the office, Dr. Lechner can be found spending time with his family or tinkering with his 1930 Model A Ford hot rod.
